The Town of Smithsburg, Maryland retained Jakubiak & Associates, Inc. to prepare a new Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan introduces the vision,  techniques, and strategies to protect and preserve key mountain view sheds and to concentrate future development in traditional patterns. The Town adopted the Comprehensive Plan, along with the municipal growth element, on July 1, 2008.
